February: Book of Hours

WINTER IN NORTHUMBERLAND (Part I)

Outside the garden
The wet skies harden;
The gates are barred on
The summer side:
"Shut out the flower-time,
Sunbeam and shower-time;
Make way for our time,"
Wild winds have cried.
Green once and cheery,
The woods, worn weary,
Sigh as the dreary
Weak sun goes home:
A great wind grapples
The wave, and dapples

This is the next installment of my Book of Hours. This time I wanted to focus on making it look more like a painting. While I used two pre-made textures, I spent alot of time this time shading and "painting", rather than the last ones, which I wanted to look more like metal icons.

I'm doing this project to teach myself photo manipulation, so comments and critiques are welcome and appreciated if you've got a moment!
